FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What is an Off-Road Segway?
A Segway is a two-wheeled, self-balancing, battery-operated vehicle operated in a standing position.
An Off-Road Segway adds deep tread ATV-style tires, robust construction, and a wider riding platform to handle terrain with ease – resulting in a fun and smooth ride while zipping through the backwoods of Door County.
Big Tires = More Fun!
Q: Are Off-Road Segway's safe and easy to learn?
The Segway is self-balancing, ensuring you stay upright under normal use. In fact, five internal gyroscopes do all the work while responding to the lean of your body. Lean forward and you go forward; lean back and you go backwards.
Riding a Segway is both effortless, quick to learn, and lots of fun!
Q: Do you offer training?
Q: Can my children ride?
All riders ages 10 and older are welcome. All riders under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Minimum weight is 70 lbs.
Q: What are the height restrictions?
Our Off-Road Segways have adjustable handlebars to accommodate both short and tall riders.
Q: Who should NOT ride?
Riders must be capable of standing for an extended period of time without assistance.
It is not recommended that pregnant women, and persons with balance issues or seizure disorders, participate in this activity.
Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be prohibited from riding.
The weight limit is 260 lbs.
Q: What about safety and waivers?
All riders wear protective helmets – which we provide. You will also sign a standard waiver and release form prior to having fun on the trails.
Q: What is your cancellation and rain check policy?
Here in Door County we still operate the old fashioned way: your word is good enough for us.
Since we do not accept deposits, there are no cancellation fees. As a courtesy, if you need to cancel – please let us know as soon as possible.
If it rains, we simply don't ride. We don't like riding in the rain, and neither will you.
Q: Can we bring a large group?
We like to keep our tours small and personal. A typical tour has an average of 6 participants – with smaller groups combined together on the same tour.
If you have a large group/family, we can accommodate up to 10 riders per tour.
Q: Can I use my cell phone during the tour?
We know your text is important, but so is not hitting a tree or riding into a ditch. For everyone's safety, we request you ride distraction-free.
To safely photograph or video your off-road adventure, please consider using a hands-free camera such as a GoPro-style camera that mounts to your helmet or uses a chest harness.
Q: Where do we meet for our tour?
Our tours meet in different locations, so please check our tours page for complete details.
Q: I have a question you didn't answer.
We're happy to answer it. Please contact us. We'd love to hear from you.
